Well Dressings

In 2026, there were three:

• 1. Swanwick School and Sports College Well Dressing at the School entrance on The Delves, near its junction with Hayes Lane
• 2. Jubilee Fountain Well Dressing at the Jubilee Fountain, at the junction of Broadway and The Green (B6016)
• 3. 2nd Swanwick Scouts Well Dressing outside the Centenary Scout Hall on Chapel Street
• 4. Main Well Dressing
• 5. Scouts Well Dressing
• 6. The Delves School Well Dressing
• 7. Women’s Institute Well Dressing
• 8. Swanwick Hall School Well Dressing
• 9. Swanwick Primary School Well Dressing (2014)
• 10. Swanwick Primary School Well Dressing

The railings in front of the fountain are removed for the dressing to be put in place on the first day of the event. For the rest of the week, the railings are back in place, which may make photograpohy difficult.

How to get there

Swanwick is located at the junction of the B6179 and the B6016 roads about 1.5km south of the A38 at Alfreton.

CAR: use DE55 1AN for satnav
It is usually easy to park on Broadway or The Green.

BUS: Mondays to Saturdays: frequent services from Alfreton, Derby and Ripley; 4 per hour from Mansfield; 2 per hour from Chesterfield. Sundays: 2 per hour from Alfreton, Derby and Ripley; hourly from Chesterfield and Mansfield.
